New Book

New book: Joanna Russ’s Magic Mommas

We’ve now published Joanna Russ’s 1985 book of feminist essays, Magic Mommas, Trembling Sisters, Puritans & Perverts. The essays are mostly related to sexual fantasies and pornography.

The book includes Russ’s autobiographical essay about figuring out that she was a lesbian (“Not for Years, but for Decades”), Russ’s influential discussion of Star Trek slash fiction (“Pornography by Women for Women, with Love”), and four other essays.

You can buy the ebook for US$7.99 (or similar local pricing) from the Apple Books Store, the Kindle Store, or Barnes & Noble, and it’s coming soon to a couple of other ebook stores.

New Book

Cyrano!

In August, we published our second book: Cyrano de Bergerac, Brian Hooker’s brilliant 1923 blank-verse translation into English of the classic swashbuckling romantic French play by Edmond Rostand.

The play is in the public domain, and so is the text of our edition (but not the cover). You can get our edition for free from the major ebook stores: Apple Books, Kindle, Kobo, and Nook.

The lovely cover, designed by Jenn Reese, is copyrighted and not in the public domain.

Site News

New website!

The Constellation Press website is now up and running. Thanks to Jeremy and Jenn of Clockpunk Studios for the lovely design and implementation. I highly recommend them.

(The publicly visible parts of the site are pretty minimal right now, but I’ll make more of the site visible as the press develops.)

There’s likely to be no new news for a while yet, but stay tuned.
